Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (MLGOOs) throughout Region XI attended the Orientation on the 2017 Assistance to Disadvantaged Municipalities (ADM) on August 3, 2017 at The Royal Mandaya Hotel, Davao City.

The ADM Orientation was attended by the Provincial Directors, Cluster Heads, DILG Technical Engineers, and other staff from the DILG Regional Office. Policy guidelines and procedures in the implementation of the 2017 Local Government Support Fund – Assistance to Disadvantaged Municipalities (LGSF-ADM) should be assimilated by the Local Government Units (LGUs) for them to be able to abide with the prescribed processes and be accountable for the overall implementation of the program.

“The funds and projects are not from DILG but from and for the people. The department just facilitated the programs and projects,” said Regional Director Alex C. Roldan in his opening message.

He stated that there are funds and projects but it is not communicated effectively to the people and that the DILG should build good relationship with the LGUs and with the public.

ADM program, covering 1,373 municipalities nationwide, equitably assists the municipal governments in providing financial subsidy for the citizens’ access to basic facilities such as water system, evacuation facility, local access roads, small water impounding, and sanitation and health facilities. It is also considered as a tool to influence LGUs towards good governance.

The said orientation would ensure proper information dissemination and provide administrative guidance relative to the implementation of ADM.
