“The general public should be warned against this scam because we in the government service will not allow such solicitations especially with regard to appointments to government posts. It is cunning and fraudulent. DILG will not sanction nor endorse any organizations that carries this kind of work,” Regional Director Alex C. Roldan said.
The Advisory from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) OIC-Secretary Catalino S. Cuy, addressed to the public warning against a scam on soliciting nominees for Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Punong Barangay or Barangay Chairman is attached (see copy).
In it, the DILG said that they received reports that certain persons are soliciting nominations and nominees to be appointed as Officer-In-Charge (OIC) Punong Barangay or Barangay Chairpersons through text messages.
