The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Office and other government sectors led the discussions during the Multi-Sectoral Forum on the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) on August 17 at AL Navarro National High School, Lasang, Davao City.

AL Navarro NHS is the first school in Davao region wherein a youth forum was held. The activity was participated by Grade 10, 11 and 12 students.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) is vying for another Red Orchid Award (ROA), the highest distinction given by the Department of Health (DOH) on promoting smoke-free environment, for this year.

In 2013, DILG Regional Office was given the White Orchid Award for garnering a total score of 60-69% based on the set criteria and a Red Orchid Award in 2015 for having a 100% score.

MLGOOs on ADM 

Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (MLGOOs) throughout Region XI attended the Orientation on the 2017 Assistance to Disadvantaged Municipalities (ADM) on August 3, 2017 at The Royal Mandaya Hotel, Davao City.

The ADM Orientation was attended by the Provincial Directors, Cluster Heads, DILG Technical Engineers, and other staff from the DILG Regional Office. Policy guidelines and procedures in the implementation of the 2017 Local Government Support Fund – Assistance to Disadvantaged Municipalities (LGSF-ADM) should be assimilated by the Local Government Units (LGUs) for them to be able to abide with the prescribed processes and be accountable for the overall implementation of the program.

Davao City took part in the celebration of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations’ (ASEAN) golden anniversary through the lighting of the ASEAN landmark lantern on August 8, 7 o’clock, in front of the City Hall.

The ASEAN lantern was lit in various parts of the Philippines as 76 local government units (LGUs) participated in the simultaneous event.
